Our story
Where Two Passions Became One Vision.
Eleni’s Herbal Tea Co. was founded by Mary Ann Contogiannis, M.D. and Faith Spencer, Ph.D., two women whose different professional and cultural backgrounds came together around a shared belief:
Wellness can be both intentional and beautiful.
Mary Ann Contogiannis, M.D.
Physician, entrepreneur, and Medical Director of Renaissance Center for Plastic Surgery & Wellness, Dr. Mary Ann Contogiannis has spent her career helping people feel confident and cared for through an approach that recognizes wellness as more than any single treatment or routine.
Her appreciation for food, hospitality, and gathering began much earlier.
With Greek roots and a family history in the restaurant business, Mary Ann grew up understanding something Mediterranean cultures have known for generations: what happens around the table matters.
Food and drink aren't simply consumed. They are shared.
They create conversation, connection, celebration, and belonging.
That spirit of hospitality became part of the foundation of Eleni’s.
Faith Spencer, Ph.D.
A Double Certified Tea Sommelier and Holistic Health Practitioner, Faith Spencer brings decades of experience exploring botanical wellness, holistic practices, and the relationship between everyday rituals and well-being.
Her relationship with tea became especially meaningful during a difficult chapter in her own life.
Tea became something she could return to—a source of hydration, comfort, and ritual when ordinary routines weren't always easy.
Her professional curiosity soon followed.
She began looking more closely at the leaves, flowers, fruits, herbs, roots, aromas, traditions, and naturally occurring compounds inside the cup.
But just as important was what happened around the cup.
Heating the water. Selecting the leaves. Watching them unfurl.
Breathing in the aroma. Taking a moment before taking the first sip.
Tea became an invitation to pause.
And eventually, that philosophy found its words:
